This February, MTT travels to Israel to lead the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in performances of Copland’s ballet Billy the Kid, Brahms’s Second Symphony and Strauss’s Brentano Lieder. The American soprano Laura Claycomb is the featured soloist for the Strauss songs, which are based on poems by the early German Romantic Clemens Brentano. MTT’s performances with the IPO will take place in Tel Aviv on February 7 and 11 and in Haifa on February 8.
