This program will be presented in Chicago by the Chicago Harris Theater.

MTT returns to Miami on Saturday, February 15, to lead a concert of contemporary classical works that include Lukas Foss’ Phorion, which will be accompanied by the world premiere of a NWS commissioned video created by Adam Larsen, and Berio’s Sinfonia, featuring Synergy Vocals.

On Saturday, April 26, in a program titled New Work, MTT conducts the NWS in Stravinsky’s Huxley Variations along with the world premiere of an animation by artist Emily Eckstein, produced in creative collaboration with MTT. The program also includes Eckstein’s animation for Stravinsky’s Circus Polka, a 2011-2012 NWS commission.

For this seasons’ final performances on May 3 & 4 ten of the NWS’s nearly one thousand alumni will join current Fellows for a performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 7 conducted by MTT. In the week preceding the performance, returning alumni will coach and lead master class sessions with current Fellows and local Miami musicians.
