Appointed Assistant Conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Co-Music Director, Ojai Festival.
Made his unscheduled New York debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, replacing William Steinberg mid-concert at Philharmonic Hall, Lincoln Center. Following this last-minute debut, he conducted 37 concerts with the Boston Symphony in the 1969-70 season.
