This week Michael Tilson Thomas returns to the West Coast to lead the San Francisco Symphony at Davies Symphony Hall ( May 14, 16, 17 ) and the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts at UC Davis ( May 15 ). Violinist Christian Teztlaff guests with MTT and the SFS in Bartók’s Violin Concerto No. 2, on a program that also includes Brahms’s Fourth Symphony and Sibelius’s symphonic poem Lemminkäinen’s Return. 

On June 10, 2014, MTT and the San Francisco Symphony will release a new live recording of the first concert performances of Leonard Bernstein’s complete score for the musical West Side Story featuring a stellar Broadway cast including Cheyenne Jackson and Alexandra Silber, and the San Francisco Symphony Chorus.
