This fall, conductor Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas celebrates his 50th anniversary of conducting the London Symphony Orchestra.
In the first of his three November performances, Michael leads the LSO in Berlioz’s Romeo and Juliet. They are joined onstage by mezzo-soprano Alice Coote, tenor Nicholas Phan, bass Nicolas Courjal, and the London Symphony Chorus (November 10).
MTT and the LSO explore Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5 at Barbican Hall (November 13). The next day, they return to the stage with Prokofiev, along with Michael’s own Agnegram. Violinist Nicola Benedetti joins as featured soloist in Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto.
