Michael Tilson Thomas Returned to Conduct the New York Philharmonic

On November 4, 5, and 7, MTT conducted the New York Philharmonic in his first appearance since undergoing surgery in July 2021. Tilson Thomas, who returned to the Orchestra after ten years, said:

“Through these past difficult months, my love and appreciation of music has remained undiminished. The thought of sharing it with New York audiences gives me great joy.”

The program featured Berg’s Violin Concerto, with soloist and longtime collaborator Gil Shaham. Other highlights included Beethoven’s Eroica and Crawford Seeger’s Andante for Strings. Performances took place in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. To learn more, click here.
