On October 15 & 16, co-founder and Artistic Director Michael Tilson Thomas returns to Miami to lead the New World Symphony in the opening of the 2016/17 academic season with special guest Emanuel Ax.

MTT conducts the orchestra in Brahms’s Variations on a Theme by Haydn and Richard Strauss’s Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks. Joined by Ax, MTT takes the podium for two celebrated concertos: Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 14 and Schoenberg’s Piano Concerto.
