MTT leads Philadelphia Orchestra at Kimmel Center and Carnegie Hall

Dec 2, 2013

This week Michael Tilson Thomas will conduct the Philadelphia Orchestra in concerts at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts (December 5, 7 and 8) and at New York’s Carnegie Hall (December 6). The performances see MTT leading the orchestra in Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique and Brahms’s First Piano Concerto, with guest soloist Hélène Grimaud. MTT replaces Yannick Nézet-Séguin, who has withdrawn from the performances due to illness.

Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique is the subject of an episode of MTT and the San Francisco Symphony’s Keeping Score series on PBS. You can explore an interactive feature of the French composer’s work here.
