This winter, Co-founder and Artistic Director Michael Tilson Thomas returns to Miami to reunite with the New World Symphony.
At the New World Center, MTT and the orchestra perform Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 in G Major. (February 23 & 24). Christian Tetzlaff performs the Ligeti Violin Concerto as featured soloist, in an evening that also hears Dean Whiteside conduct Smetana’s Overture to The Bartered Bride.
On March 2, MTT leads the NWS Thirty-First Anniversary Gala. He and the orchestra are joined by special guest John Williams. Together, they commemorate the evening with an exploration of the celebrated American composer’s music.
